A couple of months ago we have previously reported on a very exciting Indiegogo campaign product, the Pelxidrone. Of course we are aware that crowdfunding products involve risks as to how much the advertised features actually materialize, but we have high hopes for Plexidrone as they have raised nearly nine times their original goals and maxed out their stretch goals also. Some of which are pretty exciting, like the octocopter upgrade. The most exciting thing promised by the original campaign goals was obstacle avoidance which I feel all consumer drones should be offering very soon.

They have also announced exciting partnerships with Bublcam (also still in crowdfunding stage) and Sony ActionCam. It seems like they want to distance themselves from GoPro somehow.

At the same time I personally would be surprised if they wouldn’t be approached by the action cam manufacturer after their plans to launch an in-house drone line of product leaked recently.

So we are still on the same position as before, really cheering the Plexidrone team to be able to successfully deliver on their campaign promises because what they came up with pretty much covers every wish almost any drone enthusiast could ever dream of. I am going to refrain from dumping all the tech facts on you in this post, go back to our original post for more details and visit the crowdfunding page.

The crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo ends in about 17 hours, so this is the last time to pledge Here is a great video worth watching:

After finishing the successful Indiegogo campaign, Plexidrone folks promise to deliver in the spring of 2015.

“Plans to deliver in the Spring of 2015″… I wish blogs would stop giving some much credibility to unknown indiegogo/kickstarter start ups. It’s now Oct 2016 and the Plexidrone is no where to be seen.

Being a backer means being an investor… investors want the company to do well.

Being a backer means being an investor… and there are risks and benefits associated with it. The more backers support Plexidrone the sooner the Plexidrone will be released. Hating on crowdfunded companies will not do anything. Most projects, forget crowdfunded, are delayed. It is just impossible to predict time, especially when companies have limited resources. why would a company that does not care about their product keep updating their website and work on the product ( https://support.dreamqii.com/hc/en-us )

The whole Plexidrone and DreamQii situation has been quite unfortunate. We as backers and customers wanted DreamQii to put out a successful product that gives all of the features they promised. However they have been in their production phase for a while now. In all fairness to them, they did completely revamp their older model in order to make the new model look and allegedly perform better.
They have started getting more active on social media now and are starting to show some promising videos on both their YouTube and Facebook pages.

    Lets hope for the best.
